Suppose it was your birthday. And all of your family, friends and loved ones threw you a party. When you arrived however, they didn't acknowledge you.
They said, " Happy Birthday X" instead of saying your name.
They gave gifts to each other and didn't get one for you.
Wouldn't it feel weird?
Wouldn't it feel outright disrespectful?
Well that's what the world does to Jesus every Holiday Season.
Its sad that Christmas is Jesus's Birthday yet he is the very one that none Christians leave out.
Below, we jocked down a few things that are on Jesus's Birthday list this Christmas. Things that all of us can give him:
1) Your Heart
The bible uses this word in expression of our inner selves. That is to say, Jesus wants the real you. Not the church you. Not the surface you. He wants you to give over your inner most self to His will and His way.
2) Your Talent
Many people are using their talents and gifts in the world to make money, develop a career and provide for their loved ones. And while that is great. Jesus would love to have your talent this season. Are you good at singing? Go sing your best song to people in the hospital. Are you an entrepreneur? Go share some business tips with low income families who want to get started.
3) Your Problems
Jesus wants you to hand your issues over to him. Yep. This one is always on his Christmas list. When Jesus takes our problems, he gets to enjoy a better more peaceful version of ourselves. Give him your troubles. Give him your fears. Give him your frustrations.
4) Your Sins
Addicted to porn? Give that addiction over to Jesus this Holiday. Abusive to your kids? Give that up to him this year. This is one of the most desired things on Jesus's Christmas list. He wants your sins.
There are plenty of other things he desires. But know this. Jesus is the reason for the season. Its nice to include everyone in Christmas but its depressing that the world leaves him out on the very day he should be included.
Get him a gift this year.
